What to Wear to Friendsgiving

Today on the blog, Devon shares how to dress for a Friendsgiving dinner with the perfect balance of style and comfort.

Fall is definitely my favorite time of year-- the cozy layers and textures I love are in full force. When it comes to dressing for Friendsgiving and other holiday potlucks, comfort is key in order to enjoy all of the delicious food. Keep it stylish while you celebrate with contemporary proportions and seasonal hues.

The Perfect Low-Key Holiday Party Outfit

Friendsgiving involves two things: lots of food and wine. So a comfortable look is absolutely essential. A modern tee paired with a fun and festive skirt means you can party and dine with ease.

As the temperatures drop, it’s time to break out the warm layers. The ‘coatigan,’ or sweater coat, is an easy way to take your simple look to the next level, and stay warm while party-hopping.

Fall is for Coatigans

The Coatigan is everywhere this fall. This season, I am living in my Uniqlo Coatigan. This piece is the perfect combination of coat and cardigan (hence the name!) and it’s just the right weight for fall in San Francisco. A long sweater coat is a cool and contemporary addition to any wardrobe. The exaggerated proportions make a simple outfit look extra chic.

Here are some of my favorite picks for any budget:

Autumnal Inspiration

For me, the cooler months are the perfect time to throw on my all black uniform. While I won’t be straying away from my dark palette anytime soon, a pop of warm seasonal color is the perfect way to add a festive touch.

Mustard yellow is having a huge moment this season. It’s the perfect fall color if you tend to shy away from red tones. This bright hue surprisingly works with most skin tones, give it a try if you don’t believe me!

Stay Stylish,

Devon
